Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Headphone Black Friday 2022 and Cyber Monday Deals: My search to find the perfect sub-$300 closed, over-ear headphone had started some months ago when I got tired of my previous group, the Soundmagic HP150. While they had great isolation and excellent sound, they were a tad big for my needs, with questionable build quality which made me a careful user.
I started looking for a set of headphones to substitute or at least complement them with something smaller, but still at the over-ear selection. I ended up choosing 2 headphones, the Beoplay H6 second generation along with the Sennheiser Momentum 2. In this review, I will be focusing on the Momentum two and how they compare and feel to my other pairs.
I love the noise of the Momentum two for its laid back tone ordinarily. Still, there are two points that I will select: soundstage and imaging. For a $300 headphone, I was expecting something better.
The soundstage feels somewhat congested and narrow. I had heard better close-back headphones at the soundstage department that cost the same or less, like the AKG K550 or Soundmagic HP150, which are extremely impressive for its 150 — 200 range. Since the highs are not very well extended, the sense of transparency and detail aren’t super great.
