Best Fitbit Alta Fitness Tracker Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sale 2019 & Deals: A Fitbit, for better or worse, resembles a Fitbit. For the previous seven years, Fitbit’s product layout has skewed toy-like, friendly, utilitarian. A Fitbit won’t be mistaken for jewelry; it’s not high-fashion, though it could try; it is a Fitbit.
But that does not mean Fitbit isn’t susceptible to the trends of its industry, one which it helped firmly establish, as well as the brand new $130 Fitbit Alta, is the best example of this. The business has eschewed a clunky wristband for one that’s a bit more delicate. The Alta is slimmer and more affordable than Fitbit’s Charge, Charge HR, and Surge wristbands. The plastic ring that ships with the Alta can also be decked out for a softer, genuine leather, giving it a more aesthetic appeal.
It is a trend we’re seeing more of: firms such as Fitbit, Misfit, and Fossil have all stepped firmly in the way of”fashionable” wearables this year, the notion being that if they don’t look great, you won’t wear them, and in the event that you won’t use them, they’re useless. Jawbone, while its goods have had some technical issues, also deserves mention for creating appealing, bracelet-like activity-trackers since 2011.
But the Fitbit Alta still looks like, well, a Fitbit, and that is largely because of one of its most significant differentiators: its screen.
The Alta has a scratch-resistant OLED display, cased in stainless steel, that takes up a large section of the top of the ring. The screen is handy; it means that you don’t have to start up the Fitbit all to see the time of day, the number of steps you’ve taken, distance traveled, and calories burned.
But the Alta’s display, for all its convenience, is the thing that cries”Activity-tracker!” From throughout the room. Has Fitbit created a nicer-looking Fitbit? Absolutely. I’ve been wearing it for well over a week, and I like it. It’s even easier to put on than other Fitbits (whereas the clasps on the newer Jawbone UPs drive me nuts). However, at its core, is your Alta far different from different Fitbits? No.

The Fitbit Alta is a mid-range activity tracker for the everyday fitness fan, which is a real winner when it comes to slim, chic looks and a range of fashionable accessories. It tracks the fundamentals (Steps, Distance, Calories, and Sleep), also boasts Caller ID, Text and Calendar alarms, and is cheaper than the fully featured Fitbits such as the Charge 2, Versa and Ionic. Its higher-end sibling that the Alta HR adds a heart-rate monitor if you would like to dive deeper into your wellness, fitness, sleep and weight reduction metrics. But the more economical Alta is a trendy tracker that will interest people who don’t want a giant sports watch on their wrist or even need a huge array of stats from the app. Source: Tech Advisor
